Irlands bedste hotel, kok, pub og nykommer i 2026 er blevet afsløret ved dette års Georgina Campbell Irish Food & Hospitality Awards.
Nu i deres fjerde årti er dette de længstvarende priser af deres art i Irland. Vinderne blev offentliggjort ved en gallafrokost i eftermiddags på InterContinental Dublin Hotel.
Priserne anerkender ekspertise i hele landet, med vindere udvalgt gennem uafhængige vurderinger året rundt af et team af eksperter, der reserverer anonymt og betaler deres regninger som enhver anden gæst. Virksomheder kan ikke komme ind selv, hvilket sikrer, at priserne forbliver fokuseret på ægte kvalitet og gæstfrihed.
Ceremonien fejrede landets bedste fine spisesteder, B&B'er og pensionater, femstjernede hoteller, globale køkkenkokke og morgenmadsproducenter.
Under en tale ved priserne fremhævede Georgina Campbell truslen mod den personlige forbindelse, der traditionelt er forbundet med irsk gæstfrihed, efterhånden som virksomheder i stigende grad henvender sig til teknologi, automatisering og digitale transaktioner.
“Mange steder, vi besøgte, kunne vi se, hvordan varm menneskelig interaktion bliver erstattet af kolde digitale transaktioner,” sagde Georgina Campbell. “De egenskaber, der engang definerede god gæstfrihed, såsom at kende en gæsts navn, byde på en kop te eller blot tage sig tid til at have en samtale, bliver mindre almindelige.”
Selvom hun anerkendte brugen af teknologi til irske virksomheder, argumenterede hun for, at det ikke kan erstatte den varme og velkomst, som irsk gæstfrihed er kendt for.
“Gæstfrihedens tidløse kunst har aldrig været mere værdifuld eller mere påtrængende nødvendig,” sagde hun. “Enestående gæstfrihed handler om at skabe en forbindelse og en oplevelse, som gæster vil huske og, hvad der er vigtigt, fortælle andre om.”
